Waste Water Department

Wastewater Department Superintendent-
Dean Paulsen
712-324-2234

The Sheldon Wastewater Department consists of three full time certified staff members whom strive to recycle on average one million gallons of wastewater into a clean and safe product for down stream users as well as the environment.  The department is issued a permit from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources that regulates the final product that must be achieved before the water reaches the Floyd River.  The wastewater staff must sample, test, monitor, and send reports to the IDNR monthly to verify that the water leaving the plant is safe to reuse.  Our staff maintains all equipment at the wastewater treatment facility, in addition to maintaining the six lift stations that are located throughout the community.  There is an “On Call” person available at all times for any emergencies that may arise.
