Garbage Information
Sheldon has two private garbage haulers, Schwarz Sanitary Service at 324-3543 and DeKruif Disposal at 324-3404. The City of Sheldon bills for residential garbage pickup. The residential customer has their choice between the two garbage haulers. The cost is $13.00 for each. Schwarz Sanitary Service picks up at night, and DeKruif Disposal picks up during the day.

Solid waste disposal will now be included on water bills. The fee will be $13.00 per month for residential customers. Commercial customers will be billed directly by the haulers.

If you have Monday regular garbage pickup, your recycling day will be the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month only.If you have Tuesday regular garbage pickup, your recycling day will be the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month only.
Schwarz Sanitary 324-3543
If you have Monday regular pickup (set it out Sunday night), your recycling day will be the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Be sure to set it out on Wednesday evening.If you have Tuesday regular pickup (set it out Monday night), your recycling day will be the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Be sure to set it out on Monday evening.
Sheldon Tree Dump Rules and Regulations
The site is reserved for the disposal of trees and brush only. Disposing of materials other than what is allowed is strictly forbidden. Absolutely no other dumping is allowed.
This site is reserved for disposal of trees and brush from properties within city limits of Sheldon, Iowa. Use of this site by anyone for the purpose other than what is allowed or from property outside the city limits is strictly forbidden.
Removal of any materials, including dirt, without express permission of the City of Sheldon is forbidden and will be considered theft. The loss of tree limbs, etc. on streets and roadways to and from the site are your responsibility. Please clean up after yourself.
Your cooperation with the regulations is greatly appreciated and will help keep the tree dump open.
Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
